The Opioid Crisis: Alternatives to Managing Pain

This year, the United States Senate is taking up a bill that would authorize $261 million to combat opioid abuse and addiction. An additional $126 million would be spent on overdose prevention and treatment programs. Thousands of people die each year due to opioid addiction and abuse. There are no easy answers to the dangers of drug addiction but there are good alternatives to managing a patient's pain to avoid the need for opiate pain killers in the first place.

Chiropractic treatment utilizes comprehensive, hands on therapies to not only provide significant pain relief for a variety of conditions and injuries, but also to treat and fix the root causes of acute and chronic pain. That is the real issue. It is important to evaluate and treat the CAUSE of the pain, not just mask the pain with powerful and powerfully addictive medications.
